Pride is never a dull weekend in D.C. This year was even more packed than usual.

The city was festooned in an array of rainbows, with the new addition of crosswalks (temporarily) painted as the rainbow and transgender pride flags.

Tens of thousands of people marched through the streets in Saturday’s Pride parade. It was also disrupted and rerouted on three separate occasions by a group of protesters, known as “No Justice, No Pride”, who are opposed to the presence of police officers and certain corporate groups (two of the blockades were at the Wells Fargo and Lockheed Martin floats).

On Sunday, Miley Cyrus headlined this year’s Capital Pride concert (replete with new accusations of cultural appropriation). Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people headed to the National Mall for the Equality March. “Love, not hate, makes America great,” crowds chanted as they made their way to the White House.
