Fire officials are investigating the cause of a blaze that destroyed a food truck this morning.
D.C. Fire and EMS received a call around 9:25 a.m. for the flames that erupted in the DC Doner food truck on the 700 block of 12th Street NW, according to D.C. FEMS spokesperson Vito Maggiolo.
Crews extinguished the fire quickly and avoided its spread to cars parked in front of and behind the vehicle, Maggiolo said. One person was on board the truck when the flames began, but no injuries have been reported.
In November, The House of Falafel truck caught fire in Foggy Bottom, injuring three people. Officials said it was caused by improper fueling of the on-site generator.
The DC Doner food truck specializes in shawarma, falafel, and gyros, among other offerings. The case remains under investigation.
