During the hottest week in D.C. this year, a fan-making company has named the District the second sweatiest city in the country.

Honeywell Fans and environmental consulting company Environmental Health & Engineering’s top 10 list ranks D.C. after New York, which took the top spot.

In addition to looking at average summer temperatures in cities, the companies took into account the percentage of homes without central air conditioning and the popularity of public transportation and bike sharing programs.

They also looked at cities with the “hottest” professions per capita. In New York, for instance, they point out air traffic controllers and personal financial advisors, “whose high-stress positions are sure to increase the sweat factor.” (despite the air conditioning that surely exists inside?). Here we add our obligatory “take this and all rankings done by publicity-seeking companies with a giant grain of salt.”

Chicago, Miami, and Boston rounded out the top five on the list.
