A man was struck and killed by a Metro train on Thursday evening in Arlington. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. at the Virginia-Square-GMU station.

Metro Transit Police say the man “intentionally entered the track bed.” A witness told ARLnow that he jumped in front of a Silver Line train.

Metroraill service was suspended between Ballston and Clarendon stations through the rest of the evening and free shuttle buses were setup for riders. Regular service resumed this morning.
