Giant Panda Mei Xiang dug into her very own cake topped with a multi-colored rosette on Saturday to celebrate her 19th birthday.
She enjoyed the frozen treat for about 45 minutes, a spectator told The Washington Post. The dessert included fruit and bamboo leaves, among other ingredients.
And the mother of Tai Shan, Bao Bao, and Bei Bei could be celebrating something else in a couple of months.
After being artificially inseminated in May, zookeepers are waiting to see if she could be pregnant. If so, they say her offspring would most likely be born around the end of September.
