A D.C. police cruiser collided with a car this morning in Shaw. Both drivers were taken a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The officer rear-ended the car, which was operating as an Uber vehicle at the time, according to a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson.
The officer was responding to a call with lights and sirens on, ABC News reports. The violent crash left both cars with major damage on opposite sides of the road.
The incident took place around 4:45 a.m near the 1700 block of 7th Street NW, which was closed for about four hours.
