There’s now a crowdfunding page to raise money for a second Capitol Police officer injured while protecting members of Congress during a shooting at a baseball practice.

Special Agent David Bailey was on the protective detail of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise when a gunman began firing on them at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park in Alexandria, Va. on June 14. Alongside Special Agent Crystal Griner, Bailey engaged in an extended firefight with the shooter, drawing attention away from the politicians.

Both Griner and Bailey, along with three others, including Scalise, were injured in the attack and taken to a nearby hospital.

According to the GoFundMe page, Bailey is currently on administrative leave as a result of his injuries and “has incurred financial burdens.” The page has raised more than $5,000 towards a goal of $30,000.

A page made for Griner raised a total of $46,020 towards her recovery, and is not currently accepting donations. Medical expenses represent the largest single category for GoFundMe.

On crutches, Bailey threw out the first pitch at the Congressional baseball game, which took place as scheduled the day after the attack. Griner took to the mound for the first pitch of the Capitol Hill women’s softball game.

Bailey and Griner received a Medal of Valor in late July.

“There are so many words to describe Agent Bailey and his actions on June 14, 2017; he is selfless, brave, and dedicated, he’s an American Hero, a Warrior, and a Guardian Angel!” reads the GoFundMe page. “Let’s show our support and endless gratitude for Agent Bailey!”
