Branch Avenue, Suitland, and Naylor Road stations will be closed this weekend as part of an extended shutdown on the Green Line. Since August 5, crews have been working to rebuild a cross-over where trains can move from one track to the other, in addition to some other maintenance work.
Free shuttle buses will replace trains between Branch Avenue and Southern Avenue.
Naylor Road will reopen on Monday (and close again next weekend) and Branch Avenue and Suitland stations will remain closed through August 20.
Elsewhere on Metrorail this weekend, the Red Line will be single tracking between Farragut North and Judiciary Square as crews install communication cables. And trains will run every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont.
Riders along the Orange, Blue, Silver, and Yellow Lines won’t be delayed by any scheduled maintenance work.
