Police arrested two teenagers, one of whom is being charged as an adult, in connection to the fatal stabbing of a homeless man in Adelphi, Maryland. Prince George’s County Police say the teenagers attempted to rob the man before attacking him.

Officials are charging 14-year-old Elias Portillo and a 13-year-old male with the murder of Francisco Sagastizado, who was found suffering from stab wounds in a wooded area on July 27, according the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Police say Sagastizado, 47, had no fixed address. He was pronounced dead on the scene near the 7800 block of West Park Drive. Investigators say it appears that he was stabbed after he refused the suspects’ demand for money.

Both teens are charged with first and second degree murder. Portillo is being charged as an adult and the other teen, whose identity hasn’t been released, is being charged as a juvenile.
