Police are searching for suspects who they accuse of robbing a couple who was pushing their baby in a stroller near the 14th Street corridor on Saturday afternoon.

Two suspects approached the victims, pointed a knife and box cutter, and demanded money around noon in the 1400 block of Corcoran Street NW, according to police.

Police say the victims handed over the money and the suspects fled in a dark colored sedan.

The parents told Fox 5 News that they’d just come from having brunch in the neighborhood. “It was by far the most frightening thing I’ve ever experienced because we’re new parents and we had our son with us,” the mother said.

The mother told police that one of the suspects grabbed their baby bag that was under the stroller, then took the father’s wallet, according to a police report.

Officials released surveillance video that shows one of the suspects and the getaway car.
