Ed Sheeran has officially shown up somewhere more surprising than Westeros. The British crooner, in D.C. last week for a series of concerts at the Capital One Arena, showed up at a jam session featuring hometown hero and Ben’s Chili Bowl mural star Dave Chappelle.
Chappelle was posted up at Eighteenth Street Lounge last Tuesday night for a celebration of his thirtieth year in comedy, hosted by Washington jazz harmonicist Frederic Yonnet, reports The Washington Post.
Here are some more photos of the event:

A harmonica player recognized Sheeran and invited him onstage to jam with them. The two hung out the night after, too, at a party that Sheeran said was “just me and like 12 of my schoolmates and Dave Chappelle. It was really, really weird … Ever since then, when he has jams and he’s in town, I go and jam.”
While Sheeran has since decamped to continue his tour, Yonnet and Chappelle hosted another afterparty this weekend in Georgetown. Don’t worry if you’ve missed out on all the happenings so far, though. The comedian is booked for stand-up shows through the 30th of the month, meaning there may be more late night bashes coming. The tricky part is getting an invite.
