Blue and Orange Line trains will run every 24 minutes this weekend as crews work on joint elimination, rail, fastener, and cover board renewal projects, and communication cable installation.

Silver Line trains will run only between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston, every 24 minutes, to coordinate with the work on the Orange and Blue Lines. Silver Line passengers may have to use Orange and Blue Line trains to complete their trips.

Meanwhile, Red Line trains will run every 15 minutes to allow for rail tie renewal and joint elimination between Silver Spring and Forest Glen stations.

There’s no scheduled maintenance on the Yellow and Green Lines, which will run on a normal weekend schedule.

Red Line

Trains every 15 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday

Single tracking between Silver Spring and Forest Glen to allow for rail tie renewal and joint elimination.

Orange Line

Trains every 24 minutes | 7:00 a.m. Saturday through closing Sunday

Single tracking between Foggy Bottom & Clarendon to allow for joint elimination, rail, fastener and cover board renewal and communication cable installation.

Silver Line

Trains every 24 minutes to coordinate with maintenance on Orange & Blue lines

Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only to coordinate with work on the Orange and Blue lines. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange Line trains on the same platform.
