This weekend, Metrorail riders are in for relatively smooth trips—save for a slight delay on the Red Line.
Single tracking between Silver Spring and Forest Glen will cause Red Line trains to run every 15 minutes as crews work on a rail tie renewal and joint elimination project.
All other lines will run at 12 minutes intervals, which is normal for weekend commutes.
On Monday, riders should take note that Metro is honoring Columbus Day by operating on a weekend Metrorail schedule. As with all federal holidays, ff-peak fares will be in effect all day and parking at Metro-owned lots and garages will be free.
