While you’re waiting for your freshly-boiled water to cool, you might as well get outside and do something fun. This weekend, say hello to a new bookstore on H Street, or say goodbye to an ex by doing a million squats.

Enjoy some salsa
“Which salsa do you mean?” you might be asking. The answer is both: Cultivate the City and dancer Julio Blanco will show you some salsa moves (the dancing kind) at a free class amid the plants on the H Street Farms roof. Afterwards, feed your post-groove appetite with chips and salsa (the dip kind) with your fellow dancers.
H Street Farms, Friday, 6 p.m.-8 p.m., registration required

Commune with fellow bookish types
After months in pop-up purgatory, Solid State Books—the independent shop from Scott Abel and Jake Cumsky-Whitlock, formerly of the Kramerbooks team—has settled into its swanky new digs at H Street’s Apollo building. Celebrate the space, which includes more books than anyone can reasonably count and a cafe slinging coffee, beer, and wine, at its grand opening party. All book purchases come with free galleys, or advance reader copies of books, and kids can attend story time at 10:30 a.m. Most intriguingly, a balloon artist will also be on hand to recreate favorite characters or authors, so you can finally get Zadie Smith immortalized as a balloon figure.
Solid State Books, Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Sweat out any sadness
As Khloe Kardashian taught us, nothing beats breakup blues quite like physical activity. See for yourself at the Breakup Bootcamp pop-up at 202Strong‘s Farragut location. Bring a towel and some water to this bootcamp-style workout, and just remember: No one will be able to tell sweat from tears during a tough burpee session.
202Strong, Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m., registration required

Take in an old-school gangster flick
Remember the Bourne movies? You know, the wildly popular mid-aughts series of polished action movies about a mysterious conspiracy, all of which had slightly different titles so you’d know they existed in the same universe, and that were recently revived after a long break between films? Hong Kong has its own version: the Colour series, which follows the exploits of high-ranking members of a notorious gang. As part of the Made in Hong Kong Film Series, running through August 12, the Freer/Sackler is showing the third installment, Colour of the Game, in which a mole threatens everyone in the family. Matt Damon who?

Explore some normally-not-free art
In a city lousy with free museums, it’s easy to overlook the ones that have the nerve to ask you to cough up money to get inside. Rediscover the Phillips Collection this summer, which is offering free admission through Labor Day for patrons under 30. Instead of handing over $12 for a ticket, just show a valid ID and you’ll get access to everything on view, including the exhibit Marking the Infinite featuring the work of female artists from Aboriginal Australia.
