Who’s hungry? Stay up late Thursday night for a Hong Kong market party, head out for a weekend gelato festival, or kick back with a book while enjoying a Michelin-starred meal.

Hong Kong vibes come to Shaw
Tiger Fork will transform Thursday into a late-night party inspired by the bustling streets and markets of Hong Kong. Guest chefs including Adam Greenberg (Coconut Club) and Dorjee Tsering (Dorjee Momo) will be selling bites like spam fried rice and bolo bao, a sweet pineapple bun. Items from Tiger Fork’s late night menu along with beverages from Kavalan Whisky and Nikka Distilling will also be available for purchase. (Tiger Fork, 922 N St. NW, Thursday, 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. free admission)

Rosh Hashanah, delivered
Holiday procrastinators have a tasty solution for this weekend’s Rosh Hashanah baking. Pastry chef Alex Levin of Schlow Restaurant Group (Alta Strada, Tico, Casolare) is back with his annual pop-up, which is offering both delivery (within the beltway) and pick-up options of items ranging from bagels to honey challah and vanilla bean cheesecake pie. Delivery orders must be placed by Thursday, August 6. Levin’s Yom Kippur pop-up bakery is also accepting orders. (Multiple locations, orders can be made online.)

Scoop up the gelato
Indulge that sweet tooth with a taste of some of the area’s top gelato artisans. This weekend’s Gelato Festival is one step of a three-year competition of 5,000-some chefs to determine the top gelato maker in the world. Admission includes a taste of each participating flavor, access to gelato-making education, and the opportunity to vote for one favorite flavor. (City Market at O, Saturday, noon- 8 p.m., Sunday noon-7 p.m. Tickets $20 to $30).

Adams Morgan Day returns
On Sunday, Adams Morgan Day returns along 18th street for its 40th year. Wander through local businesses and vendors and take advantage of food specials from participating restaurants. Highlights include grilled dishes and cocktails on the patio at The Green Zone, $3 Natty Bohs at The Blaguard, and a Port City Brewing tap takeover at Roofers Union. (18th St. from Columbia Rd. NW to U St. NW, Sunday, noon-6 p.m.)

Baseball with a side of international cooking
Ditch the tired ballpark hot dog and popcorn and feast on globally-inspired treats at Saturday’s Taste the World festival at Nationals Park. A total of 11 embassies are expected to participate with free food and beverage samples before the evening’s game between the Nationals and Cubs. A special game ticket is required to attend, and guests will get an apron to take home, too. (Nationals Park, 1500 S. Capitol St. SE, 4:30 p.m.-first pitch at 7:05 p.m., $35 to $80).

Read them and eat
Thomas Jefferson was an avid reader, and now guests at the Jefferson hotel can partake in that hobby through food and drink. The Michelin-starred Plume restaurant will offer a book borrowing menu for those eating at its bar, and the Quill lounge has a new pisco cocktail inspired by the graphic novel Persepolis. (The Jefferson Hotel, 1200 16th St. NW)

Whiskey at the W
Whiskey fans can treat themselves with four new whiskey flights at The Root Cellar inside the sleek W Hotel. Options include a primer to American rye whiskey, an Around the World international sampler. There are also two choices that will appeal to the bar’s high rollers: A Pappy’s Best, with three one-ounce pours of the esteemed Pappy Van Winkle whiskey; and the Quarter Century Club, a $250 order of two, one-ounce pours of well-aged Scotch whiskies. (The Root Cellar, 515 15th St. NW, $45 to $250).
