Brighter skies are the perfect excuse to make plans for weekend revelry. But if you need Metro to get to and fro, maybe avoid the Silver and Blue lines? Both lines are running 24 minutes apart this weekend, and the Largo Town Center station will be closed to allow for grout pad renewal.

The other lines will be a little better—but not much. The Yellow Line will also be running 24 minutes apart, and (as usual on the weekends) only going up to Mount Vernon Square. The Orange Line is running 12 minutes apart on Saturday and 24 apart on Sunday, with single tracking at West Falls Church. The Red Line is running every eight to 16 minutes.

And our dependable friend the Green Line is running regular weekend service.

Red Line

Trains every 8-16 minutes

Red Line trains will operate every 16 minutes between Shady Grove & Glenmont with additional trains between Farragut North and Silver Spring during daytime hours.

Single tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center to allow for track lighting, rail, tie and fastener renewal.

Orange Line

Trains every 12-24 minutes

Orange Line trains will operate every 12 minutes on Saturday and every 24 minutes on Sunday.

Single tracking at West Falls Church to allow for rail and tie renewal.

Silver Line

Buses replace trains at Largo Town Center

Silver Line trains operate every 24 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Morgan Boulevard.

Free shuttle bus service provided between Morgan Boulevard and Largo Town Center. Please allow up to 15 minutes additional travel time.

Blue Line

Blue Line trains operate every 24 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Morgan Boulevard.

Single tracking between Arlington Cemetery and Pentagon City to allow for installation of cable/communication equipment to support cellular service in tunnels and new radio system.

Free shuttle bus service provided between Morgan Boulevard and Largo Town Center. Please allow up to 15 minutes additional travel time.

Yellow Line

Trains every 24 minutes, Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq. only

Single tracking between Pentagon City and L’Enfant Plaza to allow for installation of cable/communication equipment to support cellular service in tunnels and new radio system.

Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Sq. must use the Green Line.
