Voters in and around D.C. can score a free pedal to the polls on November 6, Capital Bikeshare announced today.

By using the code BIKETOVOTE on the Capital Bikeshare app, cyclists will have a day pass at no cost on Election Day. To take advantage of the deal, potential riders must have the app and an account with the bikeshare company.

This is a nationwide campaign coordinated by Motivate, the Lyft-owned company that operates Capital Bikeshare, a representative told DCist. Motivate has the same free ride offer with other bikeshare companies in cities including San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, and Portland.

“We want to make it easier than ever to pedal to the polls this Election Day,” Motivate spokesperson Julie Wood said in a press release. “Too many Americans don’t vote because they lack reliable and affordable transportation options. As voters make their plans for November 6, we encourage the millions living in cities served by our bike share networks to take advantage of free rides and use bike share to get to and from the polls.”

Motiviate isn’t the only company trying to get customers to cast their ballots. Uber will offer free rides to the polls, and Lyft will offer discounted rides across the country, NBC Washington reported.
