Wawa-wewa!

There’s no such thing as too many Wawas. At least, that’s what Wawa says.

The Mid-Atlantic convenience store just signed a deal to open up shop on 18th Street NW in Adams Morgan, where it will replace BicycleSpace, reports Washington Business Journal.

The hoagie slinger first landed downtown with its largest ever storefront, and then, for its second location, announced it would set up in the former location of Restoration Hardware with an “upscale” and ‘urban” feel. Another Wawa is headed to Columbia Heights, replacing the Five Guys, Potbelly, and Pete’s Apizza, with a fourth slated for Tenleytown.

All of this fits well within the plans Wawa announced for D.C. during a launch event in June 2017: 5-10 stores within two years, 10-20 stores within five years, and a total of 30-50 stores citywide. Those numbers would put its presence in line with that of 7-Eleven, which has 53 District locations, according to its website.
