Enjoy some local laughs
Tucked away in a swanky hunter themed bar’s basement is a comedy show from the group Underground Comedy that runs Wednesdays-Saturdays. Earlier shows come with a fee and feature national names, but the weekend’s free late shows are all about new and established talent from local comedians.
The Big Hunt 1345 Connecticut Avenue N.W., Friday and Saturday 11:30 p.m., reserve your seats here.

Let out some end-of-the-week stress
Want a way to loosen up on a Friday night that doesn’t include a bar? Join Yoga Heights for a free yoga class. The class will focus on breathing techniques and allow participants to find their sense of balance in a peaceful environment.
Yoga Heights 3506 Georgia Avenue N.W., Friday, 7:45 p.m.-8:45 p.m.

Get in the holiday spirit
The city of Bethesda is showing how they celebrate the holiday season with the Christmas Winter Wonderland celebration. Local school groups will perform choral songs, ice sculptures will be carved up live, crafts will be available, and Santa Claus will be paying a visit.
Veterans Park, Norfolk and Woodmont Avenues, Bethesda, Saturday, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Hit the pavement in style
If you’re ready to run off those holiday meals, join Pacers Running, the city of Alexandria, and Chadwicks at Waterfront Park for the Alexandria Holiday Sweater Run. Come out in your holiday finest (and running shoes, of course). The run route will take you south through Old Town on Union Street and then connect to the GW Parkway Trail.
Waterfront Park 1A Prince Street Alexandria, Sunday, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

See “Rodarte” for free
Enjoy free admission at the National Museum of Women in the Arts at its monthly community day. See “Rodarte” the exhibit that explores the creative vision of sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the duo behind the whimsical, punk fashion label. Stick around for the Fierce Women tour at 1 p.m., which highlights artists in the museum who refused to let men define their place.
National Museum of Women in the Arts 1250 New York Avenue, NW, Sunday, 12 p.m.–5 p.m.
