With more than 200 felines in its care at the moment, the Humane Rescue Alliance is waiving adoption fees for cats that are six months and older this weekend.
The rescue organization says it recently took in 15 cats as part of two “large-scale surrender cases,” one of which is under investigation by HRA’s Humane Law Enforcement division, that have contributed to an “overabundance” of tabbies at the shelters.
Adoption fees for cats older than 6 months are normally $100.
Maybe you want to celebrate Festivus with a cat named Festivus? Tis the season for Frosty? Or perhaps Morticia is more your speed?
Would-be rescuers can go to 71 Oglethorpe NW and 1201 New York Avenue NE to find available cats. Both shelters are open from 12-7 p.m. Fees are waived on December 15 and 16.
