Gear up: there’s some complicated stuff happening on the Blue and Yellow lines this weekend.
The Pentagon, Pentagon City, and Crystal City stations will all be closed so that Metro can complete some major lighting upgrades, install cables to allow for cell service, and generally perform rail maintenance. Shuttle buses will replace trains on three different routes between National Airport and Rosslyn: the Blue Line Shuttle will travel between Braddock Road, Crystal City, Pentagon City, Pentagon, and Rosslyn, with no stop at the airport; the D.C.-Airport Express Shuttle will travel between the airport and L’Enfant Plaza station; and the Pentagon-Airport Shuttle will travel between the airport, Crystal City, Pentagon City, and Pentagon stations.
It’s the same deal on the Yellow Line. The final trains on both lines will depart about 25 minutes earlier than usual, to accomodate shuttle bus times.
At least we can count on the other lines to cart us around this weekend: Only the Blue and Yellow lines have station closures or any kind of delay. All the other lines will be running regular weekend service.
