If you’re going to brave the frigid air and venture out of the house this weekend, look at the train schedule ahead of time: Almost all lines are running slow this weekend. The Orange, Silver, Blue, and Yellow lines are all running 20 minutes apart for rebuilding and grout pad renewal.
Besides that, the Franconia-Springfield, Van Dorn Street, and King Street stations on the Blue line will all be closed and replaced with shuttle buses. The closure is supposed to allow for grout pad renewal and cable installation. Also, the Silver Line is running from Wiehle-Reston East to New Carrollton this instead of Largo Town Center. If you’ve got to get to Benning Road, Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Morgan Boulevard, or Largo Town Center, be sure to take the Blue Line.
As usual, bless the Green Line: it’s running a regular weekend schedule.
