We’re stuck in a weird limbo between Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras, but there are still plenty of things going on to pull you out of your winter funk. This week features free kombucha, paired Argentine wine and empanadas, a pop-up reggae party, Oscar cocktails and even a Breakfast Club-inspired brunch.

It’s your (Ramen) World
Slurp up all of the noodles at Mess Hall’s Ramen World 5, which boasts some of the city’s hottest Asian spots under one roof. Bad Saint is making its Ramen World debut Sunday, joining a lineup that includes Himitsu, Daikaya, Fat Nomads, and Paper Horse. If ramen’s not your jam, hit up Nomad Dumplings or Pho Wheels, or grab sweets from Momo Yakitori. Need a reason to justify all that gluttony? A portion of the event’s proceeds support Capital Area Food Bank. (Mess Hall, Sunday, 12 p.m.-2 p.m. or 3 p.m.-5 p.m., $75-$125 for unlimited food and booze within your time slot)

Sincerely Yours, The Breakfast Club
Each one of us is a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess, or a criminal—so said Anthony Michael Hall (the brain) in The Breakfast Club. But which one were you in high school? Roll into City Tap  House with your squad dressed as your favorite high school cliché for its Breakfast Club brunch. You’ll compete for a $50 prize for best costume while building your own mimosas. Bonus: they’ll play the movie’s classic soundtrack to trigger your inner teen angst. (City Tap House Penn Quarter, Sunday, 11 a.m.-3:30 p.m., $15 for mimosas with prosecco and a range of juice flights)

A taste of Wakanda, other Oscar-nominated flicks
Commissary is kicking off its eighth annual Oscars watch party with a mixology class where you’ll learn how to make three Oscar-themed cocktails as you watch (or yell at) the red-carpet coverage and feast on bottomless truffle popcorn and sparkling rosé. There’s the Wakanda Forever, a frozen, sangria-style drink with wine and vodka; the Bohemian Raspberry with gin, lemon juice, raspberry, and thyme; and The Green Drink with tequila, lime, pineapple juice, green chartreuse, jalapeño, and cilantro. You’ll get to sip on all three while you watch the awards on the restaurant’s full wall projector. Winning ballots picks get free glasses of sparkling wine, and the restaurant will serve food from its happy-hour menu. (Commissary, Sunday 5:30 p.m.-8 p.m. for the mixology class, $90, 8 p.m.-11 p.m. for the watch party.)

Breaking news about Nando’s
It’s been a loooong two months since the Nando’s Peri-Peri in Dupont Circle shut down for a massive renovation. And on Wednesday, the fast-casual restaurant reopens with a new kitchen, draft beer taps and revamped dining areas. Stay tuned for March 7 when Nando’s thanks its hangry Dupont customers for their patience with free chicken and other entrees. (Nando’s Peri-Peri, Wednesday, open 11 a.m.)

Try something new for lunch at The Pembroke
On the ground floor of The Dupont Circle Hotel, Cafe Dupont is now The Pembroke, offering a globally-inspired cuisine in plush velvet, leather, and marble surroundings. At the restaurant’s freshly debuted lunch service, you’ll find a wide-ranging menu that includes steak frites; a roasted beet salad with blood orange and goat cheese; whole branzino dressed with capers and lemon, and a new ravioli dish each day. Dishes range from $10-$14 for soups, salads, and appetizers to $18-$30 for entrees. (The Pembroke, lunch offered weekdays 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., weekends 11 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Cheers to National Margarita day
Sipping tropical drinks may be the closest we can get to beach vibes right now, and for National Margarita Day on Friday, El Rey has put out a raft of $7 to $9 margaritas (frozen, classic, blueberry, strawberry, or mango) to pair with the taco of the day. Cheers! (El Rey, Friday, 12 p.m.-7 p.m. for $7 margaritas, 7 p.m.- close for $9 margaritas)

Patty Boom Boom reprised
Continuing on with the warm-weather fantasy, Marvin is holding its first pop-up Patty Boom Boom reggae party (named for the U Street dancehall that closed in 2015), while Howard alum Nick Owens of Nick’s Jamaican Jerk Seasoning takes over the kitchen. He’ll be dishing up jerk chicken, Jamaican beef, veggie patties, plantains, and coco bread. The $6 rum specials, and reggae from DJ Mutaal will help you forget it’s freezing outside. (Marvin, Tuesday, 6 p.m., free entry)

Call Your Mother … for supper
Park View’s self-proclaimed “Jew-ish” deli Call Your Mother has already conquered the daytime bagel scene. Beginning March 5, it will dip its toe into the nighttime scene with communal, casual dinner parties for 20 guests. Your ticket covers a welcome drink, a snack, a three-course family-style dinner, dessert, and bottomless beer, wine, and soda. Your options are pasta parties on Tuesdays, enjoying their spin on fast-food on Wednesdays, and noshing on soul food on Thursdays. The dinners are sold out through March 28, but keep checking the site for future dates. (Call Your Mother, Tuesdays-Thursdays, 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m., $68.50)

Want some empanadas with that wine?
Wine apparently goes well with a lot of things, including empanadas. Slide through Timber Pizza, which is working in partnership with online sommelier SIPTIP, for an edible trip through Argentina’s wine country—by way of paired wine and a variety of empanadas. The empanadas, among the best-selling items on Timber Pizza’s menu, come from Chef Dani Moreira of Argentina. (Timber Pizza, Saturday, 7 p.m.-9 p.m., $55)

Craving kombucha
Milan Jordan, owner of Cultured Kombucha, will soon roll out a subscription service that delivers her freshly brewed kombucha to gyms, studios, and wellness centers at members’ request. The service begins March 1 and they’re piloting the program with Cycled spin studio. But for now, you can catch Jordan passing out free samples of her Bug A Boo (pomegranate thyme) and Golden (ginger pear turmeric) flavored kombucha Saturday during Cycled’s anniversary party in its Silver Spring studio. (Cycled, Saturday 9 a.m. until supplies last, FREE)

Celebrate Domestique’s Wine Partnership
Domestique, D.C.’s newest natural wine shop, just partnered with Copenhagen-based distillery Empirical Spirits and you’re invited to the party that celebrates this exclusive union. They’ll have a tasting featuring wine from the distiller and La Boutanche, a natural wine label; snacks from Meats and Foods; and tunes from HR Records. (HR Records, Sunday, 3 p.m.-5 p.m., $50)

Vegan virgins
If you’re new to the vegan lifestyle, Ticara Smith, an herbalist and author, is launching a vegan cooking series in Capitol Heights, Maryland for beginners. It’s served up in four weekly sessions on Saturdays starting Feb. 23. (Everlasting Life Restaurant, Saturdays through March 16, $20 per class)
