In case you were startled by that incredibly loud sound over downtown on Wednesday afternoon, fear not: it was a fighter jet flyover ordered by President Donald Trump for the Polish president’s visit.

According to CNN, Poland is looking to purchase new F-35s from the United States, and the foreign minister recently traveled to Florida to see the jets fly. Trump and Polish president Andrzej Duda are reportedly set to announce an increase in U.S. troops in Poland, according to the outlet.

Despite a last-minute announcement from the city, many Washingtonians were confused (and kind of frightened) about what was going on.

In case you missed the flyover, Twitter has you covered.
