While making her latest LP, Reward, Welsh singer-songwriter-producer Cate Le Bon spent her days woodworking, using the evenings to record. Titled after Jamaica Kincaid’s “Girl,” Ecuadorian-American producer Helado Negro, aka Roberto Carlos Lange, released his sixth album This Is How You Smile to acclaim earlier this year. After a decade away, D.C.’s own Jawbox has reunited for a string of shows, including two nights at 9:30 Club beginning Friday, with the group’s best known lineup, featuring J.
