Six stations on the Yellow and Blue lines were shut down this summer, including King Street.

You read that right: the end is in sight. On Monday, the very inconvenient Blue and Yellow line shutdown that closed six stations in Virginia for the entire summer is finally over. With the end of the shutdown comes the end of shuttle buses and free parking at the several stations that made it free for folks affected by the shutdown.

But alas, we have one more weekend to get through. The Blue and Yellow lines will continue to run with closures this Saturday and Sunday (in case you somehow don’t have a game plan for taking those lines, here’s some help).

The Red Line will run slow this weekend, with trains running every 18 minutes, and additional trains every nine minutes between Farragut North and Glenmont between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The Orange, Silver, and Green lines are all running normally this week.

Here’s more from WMATA:

Red Line

  • Trains every 18 minutes.
