A different kind of happy hour
The Virginia-based CBD purveyor District Hemp Botanicals is now slinging potentially anxiety-easing products in Dupont Circle, and celebrating on Friday evening with a happy hour. The shop will be offering gratis wellness activities with a CBD prefix: yoga, massages, mocktails, and tastings from vendors selling CBD-infused products. Next door, Epic Yoga will host a pop-up market of local vendors hawking wellness-ish products. You can also browse District Hemp’s selection of lotions, oils, snacks, and other CBD products, and the first 30 to arrive at the happy hour receive a tincture on the house.

Watch them make a scene
TheatreWashington’s TheatreWeek is upon us, which means access to discounted (as low as $15) tickets at theaters both big (Woolly Mammoth, Folger Theatre, and the like) and small (1st Stage, Solas Nua, etc.). Saturday’s kickoff party is a chance to scope out what’s coming up on stages around town, plus catch talks from top performers, and see excerpts from recent productions. Little theater lovers can participate in storytelling, improv, and movement games and other kids programming.
Arena Stage, Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
A morning dance party
Maybe you’re one of those people who naturally rises with the sun on a day off, dancing through the morning. But for the normal people out there who need a little help to get moving, VIDA Fitness will lead a free Zumba class at the Mount Vernon Triangle farmers market. Register now, stop by the market to pick up whatever vegetable is in season during this transitional period (corn! grapes!), then get ready to dance sweat.

Go to the fair
What with the first-ever House hearing to consider D.C. statehood coming up this month, this could be the last year that the name of the D.C. State Fair is a fun little joke. Inside baseball aside, the offerings are on par with your typical county fair: There are contests (in such varied events as hula-hooping, sloppy joe-eating, and cool tattoo-having), performances (from D.C. favorites Granny and the Boys, among others), a pet parade, food trucks and craft vendors, and more.
Gateway DC, Sunday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.
Music and views
Every fall, the Franciscan Monastery in D.C. invites musicians to perform on its impressive Lively-Fulchur organ. This season kicks off on Sunday with a performance from Czech musician Ondrej Hornas, followed by a reception. Our suggestion: Get there early so you have time to stroll the pristine, peaceful gardens (complete with vegetables and bee apiaries) before they close at 4:45 p.m. Or plan your trip for a Saturday, when tours are offered twice per day.
Franciscan Monastery, Sunday, 4 p.m.-5 p.m.
