Not all weekend Metro schedules can look as beautiful as last weekend’s. If your plans involve the Red or Silver lines, be advised—there are some complications.
On the Red Line, Medical Center station will be closed this weekend. Trains will travel through but will not stop. Metro will be offering a free shuttle between Bethesda, Medical Center, and Grovesnor stations.
Due to trackbed lighting installation, the Silver Line will be rerouted to run from Whiele-Reston East to New Carrollton (normally the last stop of the Orange Line). If you need to travel to or from Benning Road, Capitol Heights, Addison Road, Morgan Boulevard, or Largo Town Center, you’ll have to use the Blue Line—which, by the way, will only be running every 20 minutes.
The Orange, Yellow, and Green lines will run normal weekend schedules.
