El Techo warms up for winter

Tonight brings the return of the weatherized rooftop at El Techo in Shaw. The enclosed rainforest-inspired space will have a retractable roof for the falling temperatures. Head to the bar for cinnamon old fashioneds or hot pumpkin spiced or chocolate cocktails made with tequila or mezcal. Fill up with smoked brisket or carnitas tacos, chile rellenos, or a shareable whole fried rockfish platter. They’ll also be projecting Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday. Halloween camp in Adams Morgan

The Line hotel is throwing special Halloween edition of its CAMP series on its Adams Morgan rooftop. Enjoy neighborhood views, a costume contest, performances from drag queens of Gay Bash DC, and food for purchase from A Rake’s Progress. BYT gets a Halloween brew

Media and event company Brightest Young Things is gearing up for its November true crime festival with a beer collaboration with Devils Backbone. The blood orange and tangerine sparkling ale will be launched at PUB Grimm, the latest Halloween pop-up bar from Drink Company, this evening. The event is free and open to the public. Whole Foods comes to Tysons

Today marks the grand opening of the new Whole Foods market in Tysons Corner’s Boro Development, and it’s much more than a grocery store. Outside the aisles, expect food stalls from Officina, Rappahannock Oyster Bar, and Curiosity Doughnuts, among other options including a coffee and juice bar and a beer-slinging pub. Continue the pursuit

There is fresh life at The Pursuit Wine Bar and Kitchen, which reopens tomorrow after a few months dark in its new and expanded location a few blocks away on H Street. Guests can expect an international wine list, pastas, and grilled cheeses, along with an increased selection of food and a focus on small, family- and woman-owned wineries. Grab a seat at the bar inside or the patio during nice days or settle in to the communal table during tasting events. (1025 H St. NE, opens Thursday)

An Oktoberfest encore

Beer geeks will descend on Rustico Alexandria this Saturday afternoon for the restaurant’s annual Novemberfest block party. More than 40 craft beer and cider producers from across Virginia will participate, pouring around 80 total selections. The kitchen will offer barbecue pork sandwiches, Red Apron hot dogs and sausages, chili and other hearty dishes. Expect live music and games, too. Detox to retox at The Wharf

Spend Sunday stretching, sweating, and sipping at 12 Stories cocktail bar. The posh Wharf penthouse is leading Soulful Sundays this weekend: an all-levels yoga class followed by a social hour with light snacks and an included pisco-based cocktail. Noodles and ramen

Toh Roong and Toki Underground are bringing their noodle soup talents under the same roof once again this Sunday evening. For their third pop-up, Toh Roong has added some new dishes to its Thai- and Taiwanese-inspired menu. Slurp up some boat noodle soup, khao soi karaggee, red curry with kabocha, and more.
