When you’ve had enough of Thanksgiving Day leftovers this week, there’s plenty of options on the table, including venturing out for Colombian cuisine from the forthcoming El Cielo, sampling fondue at Little Stable, or celebrating the end of Prohibition with classic cocktails—password included.

Cheers to women in food

Head over to Piccolina Tuesday to celebrate the release of Women on Food, a new book from New-York-based food journalist Charlotte Druckman. Sip a glass of bubbly and specialty toasts from some of the city’s leading women in food, including Amy Brandwein, chef/owner of Centrolina and Piccolina; Ann Cashion, chef of Johnny’s Half Shell and Taqueria Nacional; Rose Previte, owner of Compass Rose and the Michelin-starred Maydan; and Yamrot Ezineh, founder of Letena. (963 Palmer Alley NW, Tuesday 7 p.m.-9 p.m., $40, including a copy of the book, a glass of Champagne, and toasts)

What’s the password?

Repeal Day marked the end of Prohibition on Dec. 5, 1933, and Bar Deco’s throwing down Thursday with a speakeasy-esque party with $10 classic cocktails like Hemingway daiquiris; a negroni mixed with Suntory Roku gin, Campari and Cocchi Vermouth di Torino; and its spin on the popular old fashioned. Other specials include $5 house wines and $5 Port City Optimal Wit. Follow Bar Deco on Instagram for a password released before the party. Whisper it to the bartender and you’ll unlock an off-menu, secret special that night. (717 6th St NW, Thursday, 8 p.m. to close)

El Cielo makes D.C. debut

Head over to El Cielo, a Colombian restaurant coming to the La Cosecha Latin American marketplace, for a tasting menu preview from chef Juan Manuel “Juanma” Barrientos in the Galeria, available through Dec. 21. The eight-course menu brings a range of dishes, including Tree of Life, a bonsai tree-shaped yuca bread creation, Elcielo Pantone’s Dessert made out of gooseberry, sorbet, mango, white chocolate curd and pumpkin sponge cake, as well as Fish Full of Coconut with coconut rice, turbot, tamarind vinegar gel, and sea water gel. The courses aren’t paired with alcohol, but you can hit up the Serenata cocktail bar nearby for drinks and wine from Latin American countries. (1280 4th St NE, seatings are available Thursdays and Fridays for 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; Saturdays 4 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m.; and Sundays for brunch from 11 a.m-4 p.m., $138 per person)

Champagne by the glass, half bottle, bottle

Just in time for the holidays, Oak Steakhouse Alexandria has created a special Champagne menu serving up bubbles from varietals including Piper Heidseick by the glass, Moet & Chandon Impérial by the half bottle, or Veuve-Clicquot’s Yellow Label by the bottle. Pair the bubbly with items from the raw bar, like the shellfish platter or the chef’s oyster selection, or with steak and dessert. (901 N. Saint Asaph Street, Alexandria, Champagne ranges from $18-$400)
