Much of the District has a three-day weekend. If you’re planning to start your Monday off with brunch, here’s where you can dine around town.
Ambar
523 8th St SE
From 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Ambar will be offering its fixed-price menus of unlimited small plates and bottomless drinks. For $39 per person, you can feast on Balkan eats, such as bread pudding or poached pear waffles, and wash it all down with bottomless glasses of one of their five signature cocktails. Should you choose to avoid a slightly tipsy start to the week, you can enjoy the unlimited dishes for $30 per person. Ambar’s Clarendon location will be offering the same deals.
Brookland’s Finest Bar & Kitchen
3126 12th St NE
Whether you’re craving French toast stuffed with bacon or grandma’s cannolis, neighborhood restaurant and bar Brookland’s Finest can hook you up from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Denizens Brewing will be in house pouring their IPAs, and guests can enter a raffle to win a tour of the brewery or a Brookland’s Finest gift card. All of the proceeds from the raffle will be donated to ONE DC in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
City Tap Penn Quarter
901 9th St NW
City Tap will be offering its full brunch menu from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m, plus a dangerous discount of $10 bottomless mimosas. Nothing says D.C. brunch like avo toast and a cocktail.
Commissary
1443 P St NW
If you’ve got big plans for your day off, start your brunching early at Commissary. From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy bottomless mimosas, bloody Marys, and sangria, or fuel up for a work-from-home-day with a grain bowl or smoothie. As a part of an effort to save the wildlife affected by the fires in Australia, 50 percent of your purchase of a $10 glass of Australian Shiraz will be donated to the World Wildlife Fund.
Franklin Hall
1348 Florida Ave NW
Franklin Hall opens at noon on Monday, offering its full food menu in addition to its classic breakfast tacos until 4 p.m. Maybe even carbo-load for your four-day week with a jumbo Bavarian pretzel.
Jaleo
480 7th St NW
Explore the tastes of Spain at José Andrés’ classic tapas joint. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., enjoy a la carte dishes like huevos estrellados—fried potatoes and fried eggs—or tap into your adventurous side with one of their two brunch tasting menus. Locations in Bethesda and Crystal City will be offering brunch as well.
Mi Vida
98 District Square SW
Along with their normal lunch and dinner menu, Mi Vida will be serving brunch items until 3 p.m., including huevos rancheros with smoked ham and crispy tostada, or pan frances—banana custard French toast, whipped cream, sweet piloncillo syrup, and sugared pecans.
Oyamel
401 7th St NW
Another José Andrés joint, Oyamel, will be extending its weekend brunch to Monday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Choose from one of their nine different taco options or indulge your sweet tooth with the platano con crema, a fried plantain filled with sweet cream, Mexican crema, and sesame seeds.
The Pig
1320 14th St NW
Despite the name, there’s more than meat at this popular 14th Street brunch spot. There’s crispy French toast with berry cream or a stuffed veggie omelette, if you’re looking to treat yourself to a hearty meal, and if you’re feeling up to it, kick back with $17 bottomless cocktails.
Succotash
915 F St NW
If you need to nurse a headache, Succotash will be serving its regular brunch menu until 4 p.m., offering their Hangover Special: fried eggs, pulled pork, warm potato salad, red-eye gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit. If the thought of alcohol still hurts, you can sip on one of their “non-alcoholic libations” like cream soda or fresh-squeezed lemonade.
