In the video, it’s not immediately obvious that Brad Muenster is extremely excited to see his dog, aside from a few chuckles and a muffled “oh my God” he lets out. Perhaps he’s a bit camera shy. But Harvey, a plump 4-year-old English bulldog, cautiously hops out of the rescue van before lifting his paw and wiggling his body in pure joy.

The brown-and-white pup, who also responds to the names Pig, Piggie, and Bubba, had been dognapped over the weekend.

Muenster frantically shared a Facebook post on Friday asking for the community’s help in locating his dog and car, which were both stolen while he was in an apartment lounge, he wrote. The post was shared nearly 3,000 times.

“Hes such a good boy he doesn’t deserve any of this,” Muenster wrote in the post. “I’m tearing up thinking about the rough mornings I had that would be immediately made better by a bulldog sneeze to the face.” Muenster offered to pay a cash reward to anyone who could help find his beloved bulldog.

D.C. police reported that the suspect stole both Harvey and Muenster’s keys from a Navy Yard apartment around 1 a.m. on Friday, and then fled with his Honda Accord from a nearby parking garage.

Detectives tracked the vehicle down and, on Sunday, announced that Harvey had also been found and that the person of interest in the case had been identified.

In sharing the great news, Muenster expressed his thanks to the increasingly anxious group of people following the updates on Facebook, writing: “The police recovered Pig! … I’m writing this post with the biggest smile on my face possible.”

The Humane Rescue Alliance help reunite the duo, and indeed, there were adorable photos and video:
