Love is in the air this weekend, but Metro is unmoved by your romantic plans. Four stops on the Red Line will be closed thanks to work related to Purple Line integration on Saturday and Sunday: Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont.

As if that didn’t complicate things enough, there will be two different shuttle bus routes replacing trains between Fort Totten and Glenmont. The first will stop at Fort Totten, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont. The second will only stop between Silver Spring and Takoma.

The good news? All the rest of the lines are running a normal weekend schedule.

Red Line

  • Red Line trains operate every 6-8 minutes between Shady Grove and Takoma.
  • Due to MTA Purple Line integration, free shuttle buses replace Red Line trains between Fort Totten and Glenmont.
    • Free shuttle buses will operate on two routes;
      • Between Fort Totten, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont. This shuttle will NOT stop at Takoma.
      • Between Takoma and Silver Spring only.
  • Customers traveling to stations beyond Silver Spring must exit at Fort Totten.
  • Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont stations will be closed.

Orange Line

  • Regular weekend service, trains every 12-15 minutes

Silver Line

  • Regular weekend service, trains every 12-15 minutes

Blue Line

  • Regular weekend service, trains every 12-15 minutes

Yellow Line

  • Regular weekend service, trains every 12-15 minutes.

Green Line

  • Regular weekend service, trains every 12-15 minutes.
