MPD spokesperson Kristen Metzger told DCist/WAMU the vehicle belonged to a DoorDash delivery driver who left it idling. The suspect then took over the car and ran over the delivery driver, as well as a woman and two children.
A Metropolitan Police Department officer on the scene said the driver fled after the incident. Police have yet to apprehend or identify the suspect.
The adults and two children were transported to a nearby hospital yesterday for serious or potentially critical injuries. On Wednesday, Metzger said their injuries are non-life-threatening.
MPD released an image of the suspect captured on a nearby surveillance camera Wednesday afternoon.
