Virginia voters have a little more time to request an absentee ballot.

For Virginians hoping to mail in their vote this November, they’ve got just a little more time to request their ballot.

Voters in the upcoming presidential election have until 5 p.m. Friday to sign up for an absentee ballot, which they can do using an online portal or by completing a paper application and submitting it to a local registrar’s office.

Once an absentee ballot is received and completed, it can be submitted in one of a few ways: by mailing or dropping it off with a registrar, by depositing it in a local drop-off location, or dropping it off at a polling location on Election Day. Voters should ensure that dropped-off ballots are in the sealed envelope that was provided.

Mailed-in ballots will be counted if they are postmarked by Election Day and received by a local registrar by noon on Nov. 6. For voters dropping off their ballots on Election Day, ballots must be brought to a registrar or drop-off location by 7 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Absentee voters can also track their ballots online. DCist has also compiled lists of some of the most commonly asked questions on voting in VirginiaD.C. and Maryland.
