Four people were stabbed in downtown D.C. on Saturday night, amid a series of clashes between groups supporting President Donald Trump and counterprotesters — a violent repeat of the Nov. 14 pro-Trump demonstrations that resulted in a stabbing of one person.
According to a spokesperson for D.C. Fire and EMS, the four people were stabbed in the vicinity of 11th and F Streets and were transported to a hospital with critical injuries.

The spokesperson declined to comment on the nature of the stabbings, but reporters on the scene tweeted after 9 p.m. that violence broke out near Harry’s Restaurant on 11th Street — a popular spot for Pro-Trump groups, and an establishment that’s been fined by the city for flouting COVID-19 restrictions.
There was also an assault victim transported from the same area, according to D.C. Fire and EMS. Two police officers were also taken from 16th and K Streets to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
D.C. police made at least 23 arrests linked to the demonstrations, including six for assaulting a police officer, 10 for simple assault and one for possession of a taser. Four people were arrested for “riotous acts” and two were arrested for crossing a police line, per MPD.
While Saturday’s demonstrations were markedly smaller than those that took place in November, the day played out in a similar way — with tensions between Trump supporters, police, and counterprotesters escalating as the night wore on.

Around 5 p.m., D.C. police had separated many of the pro-Trump demonstrators from the counterprotesters near Black Lives Matter Plaza, at times violently pushing back the counterprotesters. Protesters told DCist reporters on the scene they had been sprayed by Metropolitan Police Department officers with a chemical irritant, and a Washington Post reporter tweeted that police pepper-sprayed a crowd near 13th and K Street.
Police had also blocked off a portion of the street surrounding The Capitol Hilton on 16th St., N.W., in the early evening, after a small fight broke out between a Trump supporter and a counterprotester. At Hyatt Place, another hotel where the Proud Boys are reported to be staying, similar clashes occurred — one including someone setting off fireworks in the crowd.
Violent flare-ups continued to escalate into the night. One video shared on Twitter showed what appears to be at least one pro-Trump or right-wing activist, perhaps more, violently attacking a group of people — repeatedly punching or kicking — despite the victims attempting to walk away. Proud Boys and pro-Trump demonstrators also tore down a Black Lives Matter banner from a D.C. church and set it on fire while chanting “Fuck Antifa!”

D.C. police reported at least six arrests tied to Saturday’s demonstrations since 4 p.m., but did not provide details on the charges, whether the arrests involved pro-Trump demonstrators or counterprotesters, or updated arrest numbers.
Ahead of Saturday’s events, five people were arrested in connection to a gathering of Proud Boys near Freedom Plaza on Friday night. It was not clear if they were Trump supporters or counterprotesters.
During the Nov. 14 demonstrations, 21 people were arrested.
