ONE ACT PLAY: Dance Loft on 14 hosts a unique evening of theater and neo-vaudeville with the premiere of A Troll and a Fairy, a post-apocalyptic, one-act fairy tale. The second half will be a variety show in the world of the play, with burlesque, live music, and acro balancing. (Dance Loft on 14, 7:30 p.m., $25)

COCKTAIL COMPETITION: Kick off DMV Black Restaurant Week with a cocktail competition paying homage to the original Black D.C. mixologist, R.R. Bowie. Competitors will create an original cocktail based on a song by a Black or African musician that inspires them. A complimentary Equiano Rum cocktail is included with every ticket. AFFORDABLE ART: Build up your art collection with a new art sale at the Torpedo Factory’s Target Gallery in Old Town Alexandria. The special exhibition features 70 original works by artists local to the region, with each piece priced no more than $1,000. TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER: Tune into the UrbanArias premiere of a short film from composer Shawn Okpebholo and poet Marcus Amaker to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The streamed film Unknown explores war and memory through the eyes of people connected through the Tomb. (FREE)
