Visitors at a past “Jazz in the Garden.”

The National Gallery of Art has announced the return of its beloved Jazz in the Garden series, with a lineup that includes performances ranging in styles from bluegrass to Afro-Cuban to jazz.

Located in the Sculpture Garden, the series will include musical acts such as Grammy-nominated Daniel Ho and Afro-Cuban percussionist Pedrito Martinez.  

Jazz in the Garden will take place every Friday from May 20 through July 22, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the live concert starting at 6 p.m..

The concerts are free to attend, but registration is required and will open a week prior to each concert. In 2020, the event was canceled because of the pandemic, and made a limited return last year.

Jazz violinist Nataly Merezhuk will kick off the series, and following will be performances from Martha Redbone Roots Project, Pedrito Martinez, Daniel Ho, Bombay Rickey, Caique Vidal & Batuque, Delfeayo Marsalis Sextet, Althea Rene, Todd Marcus Jazz Orchestra and Sideline.
