After last weekend’s crowds around D.C., Metro is slowing down big time this weekend, with longer wait times expected due to construction and other projects.
The biggest change this weekend is on the Red Line , where stations from NoMa to Brookland will be shut down for cable replacement. Shuttle buses will be provided to connect riders from NoMa to Brookland stations while the Rhode Island Ave. Station is closed.
In addition, the Green and Yellow lines are also expected to slow down due to operational analysis and testing.
The Silver Line is joining the slow train gang on Saturday due to equipment installation and testing. However, it should be back at its regular service intervals by Sunday.
On the Orange Line, trains will only operate between Vienna and Ballston this weekend, and riders will have to transfer to the Silver Line to complete their trips. The Blue and Silver lines, meanwhile, are still experiencing interruptions between Benning Road and Stadium Armory.
