Starting next Wednesday at noon, you can get free timed-entry passes online to visit the west wing of the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, which is set to reopen Oct. 14.

All visitors will need passes to visit. The museum, located on the National Mall, has been closed for several months as part of a seven-year, nearly $1 billion renovation. The west wing, which makes up about half of the museum, will include eight new galleries, the planetarium, the museum’s store and the Mars Cafe. When the entire building fully reopens, the museum is expected to have 23 galleries and 1,400 new objects on display.

Each person can reserve up to six passes a day for a specific entry time, according to a Wednesday press release.  The museum will release the passes every six weeks at noon. Passes for opening day until Nov. 30 will be released Sept. 14. The next round of tickets will be released Oct. 28.

Starting opening day, a limited number of same-day passes will also be made available starting at 8:30 a.m. every day.

Demand for these tickets can be high — the Air and Space Museum attracts millions of visitors every year and is one of D.C.’s  most popular tourist destinations. If you’re interested in a more exclusive visit before opening day, there is a limited reception on Oct. 7. Tickets cost $150 and cover drinks, starters, and valet parking.
