Bright and early on Sunday morning, participants will start running in the D.C. Half Marathon, which loops around East Potomac Park and the Tidal Basin, and snakes all the way up to Massachusetts Ave near Rock Creek Park. Metro won’t be opening early for the event and there’s no onsite parking — though the organizers say limited street parking will be available around the National Mall.
D.C. Police advise that the following streets will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.:
- 1200 block of Maine Ave SW
- Maine Ave from I-395 Westbound to Independence Ave SW
- Southbound Potomac River Freeway Split to Route 66 NW
- Theodore Roosevelt Bridge Ramp to Ohio Drive NW
- Westbound E Street Expressway ramp to Southbound Potomac River Freeway NW
- 9th Street Tunnel ramp to Maine Ave SW
The following streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to midnight:
- Independence Avenue from 14th Street to 23rd Street SW
- Rock Creek Parkway from Ohio Drive NW to Shoreham Hill
- East and West Potomac Parks
- East Basin Drive SW
- Raoul Wallenberg Place from 15th Street to Maine Ave SW
- Ramp from Memorial Circle to Ohio Drive SW
- Homefront Drive SW
- Daniel Chester French Drive from Independence Ave to Lincoln Memorial Circle SW
- Maine Ave at ramp from East Basin Drive to Independence Ave SW
- 17th Street from Constitution Ave NW to Independence Ave SW
- Parkway Drive NW from Lincoln Memorial Circle to Rock Creek Parkway
- 15th Street from Constitution Ave NW to Independence Ave SW
- Madison Drive from 14th to 15th Street NW
- Jefferson Drive from 14th to 15th Street SW
