Police are asking residents to avoid the Bailey’s Crossroads area around the 3500 Block of South Jefferson Street after finding vehicles damaged by gunfire.

Fairfax Police are asking residents in Bailey’s Crossroads to shelter in place because of a potential shooter.

Police say they found two to three cars with damage from a firearm in the 3500 Block of South Jefferson St. No injuries have been reported.


Police received the call at 11:15 this morning, according to a spokesperson, and are at the scene investigating. While it’s not an active shooter situation, the spokesperson continues, police are advising residents to avoid the area.

Two nearby schools — Wakefield High School and Claremont Elementary School — have been secured in response, ARLnow reported.
