Governor Northam visited a local school vaccination site where the Moderna vaccine was being administered. We are not supposed to give location other than local schools in Northern Virginia.

D.C.’s deadline to get elementary school students compliant on vaccines for COVID-19, polio, and other illnesses is fast approaching. Starting Oct. 11, children who are not vaccine compliant will face exclusion from classrooms.

In an effort to get children up-to-date, DC Health is opening some new clinics throughout the District, including one at the Ward 7 COVID Center. Pediatric vaccines are set to be available at that location from Oct. 11 through Oct. 16 through a partnership with Safeway, which operates 10 store pharmacies in the District that offer vaccines for both children and adults. Parents can make appointments here.

District COVID Centers in other wards will also have walk-up vaccination clinics. Those centers are generally open with some exceptions Monday to Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

DC Health is also partnering with Children’s National Hospital to offer pediatric vaccines for a limited time at the hospital’s various locations throughout the district. Vaccines are also available through Unity Health Care and Mary’s Center, as well as private pediatricians’ offices.

Here are some of the locations by ward where children can get caught up on vaccines from the city. Some locations are for COVID-19 vaccines only. DC Health also has a full list of pediatric locations here, updated Aug. 26.
