New year, new you. Unless you’re Metro; in which case, it’s new year, same old.
This weekend, most lines will be operating normally. Except the Yellow Line, which isn’t running at all. Also, the Red and Green lines will be single tracking, and watch out which trains you’re boarding for those lines – not all of them will cover the usual routes.
Here’s more details from WMATA:
Red Line
- Single tracking between Silver Spring and Forest Glen due to leak mitigation.
- Trains every 10 minutes between Shady Grove and Silver Spring, but every other train will continue to Glenmont. If you’re traveling to a station north of Silver Spring, make sure to board a train bound for Glenmont or plan to get off at Silver Spring and transfer.
- Trains every 20 minutes at Forest Glen, Wheaton, and Glenmont.
Orange Line
- Trains every 15 minutes.
Silver Line
- Trains every 15 minutes.
Blue Line
- Trains every 15 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Downtown Largo.
- Blue Line Plus trains every 15 minutes between Huntington and New Carrollton.
Yellow Line
- No Yellow Line train service through May 2023 due to construction.
- Blue Plus or Green lines will serve Yellow Line stations. Blue Plus will operate between Huntington and New Carrollton, and additional Green Line trains will operate between Branch Ave and Greenbelt.
Green Line
- Single tracking between College Park and Greenbelt due to track maintenance.
- Trains every eight minutes between Branch Ave and College Park. Every other train will continue to Greenbelt.
- Trains bound for Greenbelt every 16 minutes. If you’re traveling to Greenbelt, make sure your train is bound for Greenbelt or plan to transfer at College Park.
