Bicyclists rejoice: A bunch of new bike racks are coming to downtown D.C. over the next year.

Apartment buildings in the District would be required to provide bike parking to their cycling residents under a set of regulations proposed last week by the D.C. Department of Transportation.

A newly released WMATA survey shows an increase in bike parking usage from last year.

District officials today marked the completion of the overhaul of 18th Street NW in Adams Morgan, ending nearly a year-and-a-half of jackhammers, bulldozers and disruptive noise, and the celebrating the deployment of terrible bike racks.

As more and more people in the District ride their bikes to work, there has been a small but growing move towards creating and installing creative and neighborhood-defining bike racks.
