This is the fourth bloom for the corpse plant at the U.S. Botanic Garden, which bloomed in 2013, 2017, and 2019. The plant is 16 years, making it the oldest in their collection.
The U.S. Botanic Garden, the oldest continuously operating botanic garden in the country, opened a new exhibit this week in honor of its bicentennial.
The garden used to be located on the grounds just in front of the U.S. Capitol, some of its plants were confiscated at the border, and other fun facts.
These displays show off the festive beauty of the District and its Maryland and Virginia suburbs.
