Libertarians are Now a Major(s) Party in D.C.
Thanks to one unlikely candidate, the Libertarian Party has gained major party status in D.C.
Libertarian Party challenger Bruce Majors wants D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton to return $50,000 in donations she received from controversial businessman Jeffrey Thompson.
There’s one Libertarian appearing in a local race this November, but he admits that he’ll likely lose. Defeating the incumbent isn’t the point, though.
The Libertarian Party is suing D.C. over rules restricting who can and cannot collect signatures to get candidates for elected office on the ballot.
