Renovated Friendship Arch Unveiled in Chinatown

Chinatown’s famed Friendship Arch got a bit of a sprucing up this summer, and today city officials gathered to formally reintroduce the landmark. The arch had been covered by scaffolding until recently while construction finished up, so we’re relieved to see the work that’s been done more or less kept the structure exactly as it was. The restoration of the 23-year-old arch was performed by the original designer and architects, Alfred Liu and AEPA Architects…
