CNN Blows It on Health Care Decision
CNN was the first to report the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the case determining the fate of the 2010 law known as Obamacare. Yeah, they kind of rushed it on this one.
ABC News might want to invest in its knowledge of bland mid-2000s indie pop after its curious reading of Zooey Deschanel’s recent divorce. At least it works out for Ben Gibbard.
WJLA had some trouble last night sending out email alerts notifying recipients of results of yesterday’s Republican presidential primaries, needed two tries to get the result of the Georgia primary wrong.

Today In Massive Headline Gaffes
Alright, I’ll admit it. I wasn’t maniacally refreshing the Washington Times website early this morning. Fortunately, the folks over at SocialStudiesDC were, as they were able to catch this headline gaffe of massive proportions.
Last week, we asked the question: “where in the world is Sulaimon Brown?” Yeah, we were looking way too hard — turns out, Brown’s just been acting as a fill-in for D.C. Council Chair Kwame Brown at the top of the Washington Times’ Monday morning Metro section.
D.C. police were ready to make a big marijuana bust on March 4. They showed up at an apartment on Randolph Street NW eleven days ago, banged on the door and, when no one answered immediately, knocked it in. Unfortunately, the individual inside was not a dope peddler looking to make a run for it — no, the apartment was the home of 86-year-old Robert Smith, a retired man who has lived in the apartment, alone, for thirty years.

Today In Inconsistent Expletive Policy
Apparently, it’s not kosher for the Washington Post’s Carolyn Hax to utilize the abbreviation “WTF” in her advice column. But publishing something on the newspaper’s website which calls SXSW a “shitshow” — yeah, that’s no problem….
Last Sunday, during a roundtable discussion on NBC’s Meet the Press, Representative Raul Labrador (R-ID) made the mistake of attributing seven recent homicides to the District of Columbia, when in fact they had occurred in neighboring Prince George’s County. Despite the fact that all Labrador (or someone on his staff) had to do to avoid the error was simply look at this website which said the District had only experienced three homicides at the time of his comment, we were still willing to cut the guy a break. After all, we realize that it’s incredibly easy for some members of Congress to simply lump our region together into one homogenous geographical glob.

Virginia Is For Writers Who Make Egregious Errors
Anyone out there looking for a job in factchecking? If so, it sure sounds like Five Ponds Press could use a couple. Five Ponds is the publisher of a series of textbooks purchased by the state of Virginia which contain a multitude of errors — some laughable (like getting the year the U.S. entered World War I wrong), some not so much (such as the claim that “thousands” of black soldiers fought for the Confederacy in the Civil War).

Not That Parents Would Mind That Much
We all make mistakes. But as this editor can firmly attest, we often rely on our most trusted commenters to save us from our small foibles. Apparently, so do the contributors at the Post’s D.C. Wire blog — DCist commenter extraordinaire and local blogger IMGoph spotted this gem on a post about yesterday’s gas leak at Thomas Elementary School in Northeast: Pointing out that schools do not, in fact, operate on a six-day schedule: another…
