Metro Alerts Now Visible in Google Maps
Metro customers who encounter delays can find better routes on Google Maps, which now includes realtime service advisories from WMATA.
Damn! Google has corrected an error in its maps that listed a small section of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport as being in D.C. instead of Arlington.
Did D.C. just claim a small chunk of Arlington County? Sure, if you believe Google maps. And we do, so let’s welcome Arlington, D.C. to the city!

Google Maps Adds Bicycle Directions
Google today unveiled its long-awaited bicycle directions feature for Google Maps. To access Google’s suggested bike routes, choose “Bicycling” from the pull-down menu in your directions results. Google says the tool prioritizes bike trails and bike lanes, while avoiding steep hills and busy intersections. Mapping results also offer a layer of designated bike trails and lanes, shown in green. Google Street View Comes to D.C.
